Richard Guzman Adame, lovingly known to many as "Cowboy," left us peacefully on January 22, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 22, 1946, Richard lived a full life, one marked by dedication, hard work, and an enduring love for his family.
On October 26, 1980, he married the love of his life, Rachel, and together they built a beautiful life, raising children and creating memories that will last forever. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to a partnership built on love, respect, and shared values.
As a truck driver for 52 years, Cowboy was well known for his work ethic and dedication to his craft. He worked in many fields over the years, including the oil fields and King Ranch, always providing for his family and ensuring they had everything they needed. He retired in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and perseverance.
Despite his tough exterior, Cowboy had a heart of gold. He was a man who could always be counted on, offering support, love, and guidance to his family and friends whenever they needed it. His unwavering loyalty and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Cowboy had a deep love for his dogs—Lefty, Fefe, Chiquita, Cicigal, Buddy, Lily, Lola, and Pugsley—and they brought him immense joy throughout his life. A true animal lover, his bond with them was something special.
One of his greatest joys was BBQing for his family, and his cookouts were a gathering point for children, grandchildren, and extended family. He found happiness in bringing people together, sharing stories, and making memories around the grill. A man of few words but great actions, Cowboy instilled in his family the values of hard work, loyalty, and love. His lessons will live on in his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Cowboy is preceded in death by his parents, Rita Guzman Adame and Simon Adame; brother, Raul G Adame; and sisters, Alicia Benavides, Belia Valdez and Lydia Adame.
