

Richard Phillip Gonzales, 20 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010. He was an Honor Graduate of Moody High School who excelled in his education, in the Decathlon, and was an excellent musician and loved classic rock. Richard had many dreams that he wanted to accomplish. He was a current student at Del Mar majoring in Journalism. He was looking forward to serving our country with the United States Navy. Richard will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pablo and Ofilia Gonzales of Kingsville, Texas; his maternal grandparents, Domingo and Virginia Garcia of Kingsville, Texas; uncle, SSG. Bobby Garcia; aunts, Mary Helen Maldonado and Gloria Gonzales.
Richard leaves his memories to be cherished by his parents, Richard S. and Eva G. Gonzales; his sisters and brother, Katherine (Juan Carlos) Sanchez, Amanda (Robert) Todd and Joseph (Shevawn) Gonzales; nephew, Christian Robert Sanchez and niece, Emily Kei Gonzales. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Rosa (Juan) Guajardo of San Angelo, Texas, Domingo (Ana) Garcia, Jr. of Kingsville, Texas, Celia Valdez of Anchorage, Alaska, Abel Garcia (Gregoria) of Sunnyvale, California, Daniel (Nora) Garcia of Stockton, California and Pablo Gonzales, Jr. of Alice, Texas; and many cousins who he considered special and loved.
Public visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas.
