Richard Nino Hinojosa

Richard Nino Hinojosa, age 72, longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away in Victoria, Texas surrounded by his family on February 20, 2025.

Born on March 3, 1952, to Florencio Hinojosa, Sr and Mariana “Anita” Hinojosa in Robstown, Texas, where his childhood began. He often talked about his most memorable years as a teenager and young man in Oxnard, California, where he attended high school and had dreams of excelling in college. Soon after, Richard married Mary Helen Hinojosa on October 27, 1973, in Houston, Texas. Together, they brought two beautiful children into the world, Richard Nathan and Roxanne Natasha.

Richard spent most of his life in Corpus Christi, Texas. Richard was a simple man, and he will be remembered for being a jack of all trades. He has a strong electrical background but could do it all. Richard enjoyed playing basketball, softball and shooting pool in his younger days. He always had a good time wherever he was and enjoyed spending time with his family, siblings and most of all, watching his grandchildren play sports. Watching sports was passion of his as he was a fan of boxing and all Houston sports teams, the Houston Astros, Texans, Rockets and the Oilers.

Richard is now reunited with his parents, Florencio Hinojosa Sr. and Mariana “Anita” Hinojosa; and brother, Anastacio N. Hinojosa.

Richard is survived by his children, Richard Nathan Hinojosa (Judy) and Roxanne Natasha (Darrell) Serrano; grandchildren, Amber M. Reyes RN, Ryan N. Hinojosa, Aaron N. Reyes, Reana N. Hinojosa, Dehrik J. Serrano, Mason A. Serrano, and Noah D. Serrano; great-grandchildren, Daxtyn Serrano and Odyn Serrano; his wife, Mary Helen Hinojosa; siblings, Florencio “Joe” N. Hinojosa, Evangelina “Lina” Gomez, Pedro “Pete” Hinojosa, Herlinda “Linda” Hinojosa (George Lopez), Oralia “Oreo” M. Gallegos, and Dalia “Dolly” (Steve) Trevino; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

A Memorial Celebration will begin at 2 PM, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. The family will be holding a Reception Gathering following the Memorial Celebration from 2:45 PM until 5 PM, at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home Event Room.
