

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Maria Del Rosario Mendiola.
Richard was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams being the Dallas Cowboys and the Tuloso-Midway Cherokee softball team. He was employed at CCAD for over 30 years. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Richard was a loving companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all.
Richard leaves behind his family to cherish his memories, his companion, Patricia Franklin; three sons, Ricky Pineda, John Pineda (Jessica) and Billy Franklin (Paige); two daughters, Tamera Riley (Robert) and Holly Riley (Rory) all of Corpus Christi; seven grandchildren, John Pineda, Reina Pineda, Sean Riley, Danielle Riley, Jenna Riley, Jameson Riley and Grayson Riley; four brothers, Aurelio Pineda, Martin Pineda (Katy), Paul Pineda and Roberto Pineda (Sabina) all of Corpus Christi; seven sisters, Margarita Pineda, Josie Morales, Rebecca Rosales (Agapito), Louisa Lopez (Alonzo Trevino), Yolanda Flores (Jose) and Carolina Ventura, all of Corpus Christi, Dolores Polanco (Frank) of Victoria, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostle Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
