Robbie Valdeene Sanders

Robbie Valdeene Sanders passed away on August 15, 2024 at the age of 88. She was born in Freer, Texas on April 8, 1936 to the late Price and Wanda Johnson. She will be remembered as the matriarch of family.

Robbie worked with Southwestern Bell and went on to work with Levi Strauss as a supervisor for many years with her best friend Jean. They remain best friends to this very day. Most importantly she was always a farmer’s wife.

Robbie had a deep passion for making beautiful porcelain dolls. She also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys football game. She cherished spending special holidays at the ranch with family and friends.

She enjoyed playing phase 10 with family and friends and could play for hours while also cheating. She loved travelling and going on adventures. She loved to make people dance and laugh. She also loved to scare people and watch scary movies.

She was an excellent cook and everyone loved her chicken, fried steak (deer meat), and chicken spaghetti. She also made excellent pecan bars.

Robbie is reunited with her son, Billy Sanders Jr.; sister, Mary Bell Savage; mother, Wanda Moore; father, Price Johnson; and step-father, Leon Star Sr

She leaves to cherish her memories her brother, Leon Starr aka Buck, daughters, Karen D. Kocian (David), Janet K. Smith (Steve), Stephanie Balchuck; grandchildren, Kristina Kocian, Derek Balchuck, Natasha Sanders, Diana Kocian, Ashley Lightner, Amber Klein, Wesley Sanders, Miles Smith, Lyndsey Wiley, Shane Sanders, Caitlyn Smith; she is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; her Best Friend Jean Mareth and her kids; her bonus children Alex Rivera aka Junior, Cathy Cassels, Marie Sanders, Shawn Martinez and a host of extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi, TX.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memory Gardens Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derek Balchuck, Wesley Sanders, Shane Sanders, Alex Rivera (Junior), Shawn Martinez and Eloy De Los Rios.
