

Robert Leon Burton Jr., age 72, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. A lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, he was born on November 26, 1951, to parents Robert Leon Burton Sr. and Ann Laura Crabtree Maple.
Robert graduated from Richard King High School and went on to graduate from college in Kingsville, Texas, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Psychology. For most of his life, Robert worked in the retail industry. He spent 15 years employed at Walmart.
Robert had a passion for sports including football and baseball. He was a very religious man and enjoyed reading his Bible, spreading the Word of God, and praying over others. In his spare time, he enjoyed embarking on cruises, dancing, singing, watching TV and movies, and soaking up the sun at the beach.
Robert will be remembered for his generous and kind nature. He considered everyone a friend, and he loved to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert is reunited with his parents, Robert Leon Burton Sr. and Ann Laura Crabtree Maple. He leaves his memories to his son, Mathew James Burton; siblings, Sherry Bradshaw, Ronnie Moseley, and Janna Shoemaker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Robin Shoemaker and Mari Bentencourt for their assistance and all of their hard work with helping Mathew and taking care of Robert.
Visitation for Robert will be held at 1 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
