Roberto A. Puentes

He was born on October 12, 1937 in San Benito, Texas and lived most of his life in Illinois.

Roberto retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire Company after 30 years of dedicated service and was a successful business owner.

Roberto is preceded in death by his parents, Leandro and Ventura Puentes; two brothers and six sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lucy Puentes; four daughters, Patricia Serrata of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cynthia (Oscar) Garcia of Austin, Texas., Irene Puentes of Corpus Christi, Texas and Roberta (John)Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Narcisco (Irma)Puentes of Sterling, Illinois; two sisters, Eva Gallegos of Rockford, Illinois and Eduvina Suarez of Independence, La. ; numerous nieces , nephews and cousins.

He is deeply loved by all his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
