Rodolfo Oliveira Reyes Sr.

Rodolfo Olivera Reyes (POPO) 87 years old went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Rudy was born in Brownsville, TX on January 3, 1937 to the proud parents of Jose H. & Maria O. Reyes. Rudy was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Roy Miller High School.

Rudy met the LOVE of his life, Ernestina Guajardo in 1960. They were married in 1963 in C.C. Tx and had four children.

Rudy worked for HEB-Texas Gold Stamps for 28 years and retired from there. He continued to work for Tuloso-Midway I.S.D. and then C.C.I.S.D when he finally retired in 1999.

Rudy was a loving son, brother, father, brother-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Rudy left an everlasting impression in everyone’s life he touched with his smile and contagious laugh.

Those that knew him know that Rudy was a humble man. He loved having company & enjoyed listening to all kinds of music especially with his son-in-law, John. Dad enjoyed the weekend BBQ’s and gatherings with family and friends. It brought him so much joy to see his family grow.

He liked listening to Fats Domino, Elvis, and Conjunto Music. He enjoyed watching Solid Rock, Joel Osteen, Hagee Ministries and other Christian Stations.

He is preceded in death by his wife Ernestina G. Reyes, parents Jose H. and Maria O. Reyes, siblings, Jose Reyes Jr., Alberto Reyes, Maria R. Saldana, Irene R. Coutant, Eloisa R. Devon and great grandson Michael Cain Amador.

He leaves behind to cherish all his memories, his daughters, Norma (Alice) Reyes-Gonzalez, Sandra (John) Martinez, Patricia (Rudy) Pena; his son Rodolfo Reyes Jr., Dad also recognized Melissa Plata (granddaughter) as a daughter; his siblings, Lydia Moreno, and Daniel Reyes. 12 Grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 5:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be at Solid Rock Church, 3035 Ayers St. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Rodolfo Reyes, III, Jonathan Martinez, Joshua Martinez, Isaiah Amador, David Ray Plata, Lamar Bryant, Christopher Bazan, and Jacob Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers are John Martinez, Jacob Sepulveda, Refugio Garcia, JR. Elijah Garcia and Giovanni Roberts.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all our family and friends. We know in our heart; dad has now reunited with the Love of his life. He left his children a legacy of love and respect. His family has now made it their mission to continue their parents’ legacy. Thank you for thinking of our family during this difficult time.
