Rosa Delia Salinas

Rosa was born to Reymundo and Josefa Vela, on September 3, 1942, in Bishop, Texas. She married Ramon L. Salinas in 1960, and they lived together in Portland, Texas and later in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together they raised five children.

She is survived by her devoted husband Ramon L. Salinas, and children Raymond Salinas, Jr. (Mary), Edward Salinas (Alicia), Arnold Salinas (Sharon), Ann Longoria (Ray), and Daniel Salinas. Also, her beloved grandchildren, Keith, Kelly, Aaron, Anita, Christopher, Justin, Hannah, Marissa, Sarah, Thomas, Emily, Mia and Catherine. Her precious great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Olivia, Eleanor and Margaret. Left to cherish her memory are her loving siblings, Horacio Vela (Suzie), Roel Vela (Mary Alice), and Oscar Vela (Velma) and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by their infant daughter Marie, Reymundo and Josefa Vela (parents), Reymundo G. Vela,JR (brother), Lydia Strickland (sister), Genoveva Anzaldua (sister), and Oralia Estringel (sister).

Rosa loved spending time with, and taking care of her family. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and will be remembered for her caring heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to them.

A funeral mass is scheduled for June 3rd, at 12:00 pm at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Burial and a reception will follow at Memory Gardens. Father Ray Yrlas will officiate the ceremony. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, condolences, and support, which have brought comfort and strength during this time of loss.
