

Rosalba Lozano Gamez, age 60 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2011 after a long courageous battle involving many medical complications. She left this world very peacefully with a lot of grace surrounded by her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Ernestina Lozano, two (2) brothers, Eduardo and Guadalupe Lozano, and two (2) sisters, Maria Luisa (Donald) Schwarz and Eva (The late Carlos) Cantu.
She is survived by her husband of forty-four (44) years, Juan Jose Gamez, her daughters, Christina (Rick) Gutierrez, JoAnna (Adrian) Fernandez, Rachel (Arnulfo Jr.) Guajardo, and Emilia (Javier) Andrade. She is also survived by nine (9) grandchildren, Rick Jr. and Catherine Rochelle Gutierrez, Adrian Xavier and Jon Anthony Fernandez, Arnulfo III “Trey”, Antonio “Tony” and Rebekah Rose Guajardo and Cameron Drew Nucete and Braedon Adam Andrade.
She is also survived by her sisters, Suse (The late Tristan) Garcia, Herminia (The late Alberto) Garcia, Minerva (Salvador) Lozano, and brothers, Roberto (Albesa) Lozano, Salvador (Minerva) Lozano, Adan (Hilda) Benavides, Abelino (Lydia) Benavides, and Julian Jr. (Oralia) Lozano. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Emilia Gamez Ruiz and her brother-in-laws, Armando (Norma) Gamez, Arnold Gamez, Humberto Gamez, and Mario Gamez and her sister-in-laws, Dalia (Richard) Kemp and Diana (Rick) Elizondo. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Rosalba Lozano Gamez was a resident of Petronila for the last twenty-eight (28) years. Her employment prior to her disability was with the Nueces County Constable’s Office. She was born in Benavides, Texas on October 16, 1950 and was raised in Concepcion, Texas. She attended St. Vivian’s Catholic Church in Petronila.
The family would like to thank Dr. Maurice Ugwuibe and the staff at Kindred Hospital in Corpus Christi. A special thank you to Mary, Gloria, Gigi, Juan, Simon, Nisa, Emily and Keith for their constant support and nurturing while she was at Kindred. They would also like to extend their gratitude to Honor, April and Cheryl for their Home Health Services.
Life was hard but at the same time amazingly beautiful for Rosalba. Her life had a perfect ending and we thank God for the courage and strength he gave her to live. God never left her side and he gently swept her back into his arms when he knew she was tired and ready to go home and for that we are extremely grateful.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Rick Gutierrez, Rick Gutierrez, Jr., Adrian Fernandez, Adrian Zavier Fernandez, Arnulfo Guajardo, III, Javier Andrade, Cameron Drew Nucete and Julian Lozano, III.
