Though not a lot is known about Rubelina’s past, one thing is for certain, she was loved immensely by her friends. Rubelina was transferred from a nursing home in 1999 and was welcomed with open arms by the staff at her Group home and day center where she was able to live happily with her roommates and all of her friends at the day center. For the past 20 years, Rubelina was able to spend time with not only the staff at her group home, but also the friends she made along the way.
Rubelina had a lively spirit that her friends knew all too well. She had the most beautiful smile that would light up a room and brighten anyone’s day. She loved the color pink, having many pink outfits, headbands, and even a pink wheelchair. Though she was limited physically in this world, she was a force to be reckoned with. She was known for her strong personality and acute interests in puzzles, TV, and spending time with her friends at her group home. Rubelina will be fondly remembered for her contagious laugh and her beautiful smile.
Rubelina is survived by her friends at her group home, the many staff that worked with her throughout the years including: Selina Guerrero, Angelica Barrera, Nelda Morado, Abigail Alaniz, Erlinda Gallegos, Eulater Jenkins, Carmen Vidal, all the day hab staff as well as the home staff, her three roommates along with many other friends she saw daily.
Rubelina’s friends have scheduled Committal and Interment at 3 PM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
