Ruben Garcia, age 62, of Orange Grove, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep to be with our Lord and Savior early Friday morning, August 6, 2021 with his wife of 39 years by his side. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 22, 1958 to Fabian and Maria L. Garcia.
Ruben graduated from West Oso High School in 1977. He worked most of his life in the electrical field. Later in life, he became a Master Electrician and started his own company, G&R Electric. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, Texas.
Ruben enjoyed listening to music, barbecuing, laughing and joking, and spending time with his family. He was everyone's "Uncle Ben" and loved not only by his family but also by many friends and all who crossed his path. He never hesitated to help anyone in need. He had a fantastic sense of humor and enjoyed telling funny stories and anecdotes. He was an extremely loving, generous, caring, kind-hearted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Fabian Garcia, Jr.; and his nephews, Santos Villanueva, Jacob Garcia, and Jason Garcia.
Ruben is survived by his beloved wife, Aurora B.; his children, Monica Marie and Ruben Jr. (Ashly Renae) Garcia; his grandchildren, Ruben III and Noah Wade Garcia; his brother, Benito (the late Elizabeth) Garcia; his sister Susana (Toribio) Cantu; his sister in law, Janie Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
