Ruben James Maldonado went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2025. Ruben was born in Mission, Texas to Jose V. Maldonado and Aminta D. Maldonado on June 25, 1952. Ruben was a special needs person who lived with his family for a number of years before residing at the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center since 1972. He loved outings, feeding the birds, enjoyed music, and birthdays with friends and family. He enjoyed going home for family visits and going out of town on vacations. During his childhood, Ruben favored our family dog, a trusted regal canine, Blackie, who was his best friend, loyal companion, and bodyguard. Ruben was non-verbal, but had a special way of communicating with family through facial expressions, body movement, and eye contact. Brother Ruben was a very strong human being, thru all his trials and tribulations, he always won his battles. Ruben was a soldier of God. We are truly blessed to have had such a courageous brother who taught us that we can overcome our aches and pains, just as he had. Ruben will truly be missed, and we are thankful his suffering has ended and is running with Blackie in the green grass of the Pearly Gates of Heaven. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Corpus Christi State School Living Center for all their years of care.
