

Rudolph “Rudy” Escamilla, age 84, went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2013 with family at his side. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Luz P. and Angelita Escamilla. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Olga. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who cared for his family above all else.
He is survived by his beloved three children, Rudy Richard (Laura) Las Vegas, Nevada, David Albert (Doralee) Austin, Texas, and daughter Becky (Aimee) San Francisco, California; three grandchildren Nathan Escamilla, Kelly Escamilla, and Kristina (Joshua) Gilmore. He is also survived by his sister Mary Lou Escamilla, and brothers Pedro (Rosie) Escamilla and Luz P. (Gracie) Escamilla.
Mr. Escamilla entered the US Army in 1948 and, soon after completion of his military service, began work at the Corpus Christi Army Depot in 1961. Over the course of his lengthy career at CCAD, he rose from an Apprentice Engine Mechanic to Chief of the Depot Property Division. Along the way, he worked as a Technical Advisor and Contracting Officer in Tehran, Iran. He later served in Frankfurt, Germany as Chief of the Program Management Division, HQ, V Corps DIO. An avid traveler, he opened a vast and exciting world to his family from which their lives were greatly enriched.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Cage Mills Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Health with interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
