Born on July 13, 1962, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Ruth was a proud graduate of Ray High School. In 1980, she met Jesse, the man who would become her husband, best friend, and father of her children.
They shared 42 years together and built a family rooted in faith, loyalty, and love. Together they had three daughters who were their entire world, and the values they instilled in them created a legacy that continues through future generations.
Ruth dedicated 36 years of service as an educator at Corpus Christi Independent School District. She was known not only for her incredible work ethic, but also for her kindness, compassion, and listening ear. Students, teachers, and staff alike were drawn to her warmth and genuine care for others. Whether someone needed guidance, encouragement, or simply a friend, Mrs. Ruth was always there.
Outside of work, Ruth found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved spending time outdoors tending to her yard, watering her plants, and nurturing the friendships she cherished throughout her life. She also enjoyed staying active, spending time running, taking long walks while listening to Christian music and admiring God’s creation. She delighted in spotting butterflies and watching for birds along the way, finding beauty and peace in the world around her. Her bright smile, infectious laugh, and gift for storytelling made everyone around her feel welcomed and loved.
After Jesse’s passing, Ruth found comfort and community through Bible study. While carrying the heavy burden of losing her husband, Ruth continued to encourage and support others walking through grief, offering hope during some of life’s darkest moments.
Above all, Ruth’s greatest joy was her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her seven grandchildren. She treasured every memory made with them. Watching them grow up was one of the greatest blessings of her life.
Ruth leaves behind her three beloved daughters, two son in laws, seven cherished grandchildren and anticipated arrival of her great-granddaughter in July. In addition, she has countless family members and friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness, wisdom, and love.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who walked beside Ruth after Jesse’s passing, and helped her carry the cross of grief by surrounding her with friendship.
While our hearts are broken and she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with Jesse, the love of her life, and resting in the eternal embrace of her Savior.
Her life was a testament to faith, family, friendship, and love. The legacy she leaves behind will continue to shine brightly through all who were blessed to know her.
