Born on May 7, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Sally was a proud, lifelong resident of her hometown. She graduated from Miller High School before continuing her education at Del Mar College, where she earned an Associate in Arts, and Corpus Christi State University, from which she received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
She was deeply rooted in Corpus Christi and was always proud to call herself a true Corpus Christian.
Sally spent her life pursuing the simple pleasures that brought her the greatest happiness. She had a passion for reading, coloring, and tending to her beloved plants. Vibrant and social, Sally loved being out and about in her community. It seemed as though everywhere she went, she would inevitably run into someone she knew—or have a wonderful story to share about a local spot. Her laughter, stories, and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Above all else, Sally’s family was the heart of her world. Her grandchildren were her greatest source of joy, and the precious time spent with them meant more to her than words could ever express.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel De Jesus Villegas and Santos Villegas; her siblings, Rosalinda "Rosie" Garcia, Maria "Nena" Elena Lira, Manuel Villegas, Jr. and Ricardo "Ricardo " Richard" Villegas; and her partner-in-crime, Wilmer "Son" Gene Davis.
She is also survived by her siblings, Maria Del Carmen Diaz, Miguel (Mary) Villegas, Josefina “Josie” Newman, Rogelio (Sylvia) Villegas, Reynaldo (Mary) Villegas, Rene Villegas, and Belinda Villegas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and who loved her dearly.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the community of friends and loved ones who assisted in Sally's care—checking on her, visiting, and spending quality time with her. Their generosity and devotion to her will always be remembered and cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart , 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411, on November 1, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
