Samuel "S.E." Earnest Jones Jr.

Jones Samuel “S.E.” Earnest Jones Jr., age 71, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was born July 25, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Samuel Earnest Jones Jr. and Doris Elizabeth Lambert Jones. Sam was a letterman on the 1959 Miller Bucs football team and graduated from Corpus Christi Miller High School in 1960. Samuel attended the University of Corpus Christi prior to joining the United States Army. S.E., as his family and friends called him, lived and traveled all over the world in the refinery business. S.E. was a lifelong Texan and always looked forward to returning home. S.E. is survived by his former wife, Martha Brooks Bott and they remained lifelong friends. S.E. is also survived by his five children whom he loved very much, Larry Wayne and his wife, Angela, Dallas Matthew and his wife Spring; Sara Elizabeth and her husband Greg, Katy Marie and her husband Steve; and William Houston and his wife Nena. S.E. is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and his precious pet companion “Molly”. Other survivors include his brother, David Jones and his wife Jackie and sister, Linda Gierer and husband Frank. S.E. is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Family visitation will be on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held Friday, August 9, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
