Sara graduated from Roy Miller High School and built a career in the food industry. She worked at Arthur’s Moon Pizza before later working at Doctor’s Regional Medical Center, where she delivered trays to patients.
Sara will always be remembered for her tender and caring spirit. She never once thought about herself before others. To everyone she met, whether a friend or someone close to her family, Sara made sure they knew she was their Tia.
She found joy in the simple things in life. Sara dedicated her free time to reading and studying the Bible. She also loved watching classic television shows, including I Love Lucy and The Andy Griffith Show. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her nieces and nephews and her siblings.
Her family holds many special memories of Sara, including listening to Tejano music and hearing her sing along with them. She was always smiling, even through all that she was going through.
Sara was preceded in death by her father, Gregorio Alvarado Sr.; her mother, Elida Alvarado; her grandfather, Gregorio Gomez; and her grandmother, Guadalupe Gomez.
She is survived by her only son, Michael Alvarado; her siblings, Gregorio Jr. (Ester) Alvarado, Ricardo (Eunice) Alvarado, Jaime (Rosa) Alvarado, Estella (Ignacio) Peña, and Juanita (Domingo) Hernandez; and her extended family and loved ones.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone who came to help care for Sara, especially her sisters Estella and Janie, her sister-in-law Rosa, her brother Jaime, and especially her Tia Vira. The family is deeply grateful to Tia Vira for being an example of what strong faith and prayer can do.
Sara leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and family. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, beautiful smile, and the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
We love you all.
