Sara was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 14, 1967. From that day on she dedicated
her life to serving her God Jehovah wholeheartedly. She served as a Pioneer for several years
helping others learn biblical truths. Although her memories faded, even those of her children’s
names, she never forgot Jehovah’s. A true testament to her strong faith in him and how ingrained
in her mind and heart HE was.
She was a great cook, loved music, loved to dance, and even wrote some poetry. She was funny
and very witty, always one with a quick punchline. She also loved to take pictures, albeit with
everyone’s head half missing (LOL), and kept albums of them. Lots of them! Since cooking was
her forte, she hosted many friends and family over the years cooking her or their favorite meals.
She never forgot to include those that were in fragile health or in need, always preparing and
delivering home cooked meals for them as well. Friends and family always commented on how
elegant she dressed. She loved to dress up, color coordinate (favorite color was green) and of
course accessorize, which meant she LOVED to SHOP, and boy did she SHOP!
Above all she was a great mother who loved her family and demonstrated it in everything she did.
From cooking our favorite meals, to the notes she wrote us and placed on our lunch bags she
dropped off at school, to the quilts she sewed by hand for each of us, and to the surprise parties
she planned for us for no reason at all but to show that she loved us. Mom was there for us
selflessly through the good and bad, offering help or counsel.
She leaves us with a huge void in our hearts that her love used to fill. Although we miss our MOM
dearly, thanks to the faith in Jehovah and his promise of an earthly resurrection she instilled in us,
we know we will see her soon, in Paradise. -Isaiah 26:19 “Your dead will live, My corpses will
rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! And the earth will let those
powerless in death come to life.”
Our family would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to the friends,
family and the Del Cielo Hospice staff that helped care for our mother. To Iris, Araceli, Hefzi,
Ester and Nurse Mary Montez, we will never forget the kindness and compassion you showed our
mother.
