Sofia Arispe Canales of Corpus Christi passed away on February 13, 2018 at the age of 65. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 29, 1952 to Lydia Ragusin Arispe and Salvador Hinojosa Arispe.
Sofia was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Arispe; father, Salvador Arispe; brother, Arnold Arispe.
Sofia is survived by her husband, Moises Canales; daughter, Leigh Canales of Corpus Christi; daughter, Amanda (Robert) Castillo of San Antonio; grandchildren, Madison Zuniga, Natalie Zuniga, Vincent Zuniga, Benedict Castillo; step-grandsons, Christian Castillo and Warren Castillo.
Sofia was a graduate of Foy H. Moody High School, Class of 1970. She married Moises Canales on August 24, 1974. She retired from CCISD.
Sofia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A Private Service was held on February 16, 2018. We wish to thank the Fourth Floor Staff at Brookdale-Holmgreen Center for the great care attending to Sofia during her short stay there. A Special Thanks to the ER staff at Spohn Shoreline.
