Stephen Charles Palm

Steve C. Palm, beloved son of Charles R. Palm and Reba W. Palm and beloved brother of Jeanne Palm Moorton, passed away October 8, 2013. Steve (christened Stephen Charles Palm) was born September 19, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas. He moved to Corpus Christi with his parents and sister in the summer of 1961, and has resided here ever since.

Steve attended Saint Luke's Kindergarten, Sam Houston Elementary School, Wilson Elementary School, Hamlin Junior High School, and graduated from W. B. Ray High School in 1978. He also studied Business Administration at Del Mar College.

Steve loved going to the beach with his friends and his beloved dog, Q-tip. Steve also enjoyed attending motorcycle rallies and rock concerts with his friends.

Steve spent most of his career in the oil services industry, working for B. J. Hughes, then for Hi-Tech Testing (formerly Wilson Inspection), where he spent most of his career.

Steve's family and friends wish to thank Dr. Yvonne Manalo, Dr. Stephen Ware, Dr. Howard Smith, Dr. Rajeev Narang, Dr. Minh Nguyen, and all the doctors, nurses, CNAs, and therapists at Christus Spohn Shoreline for the excellent and compassionate care they extended to Steve and the extraordinary kindness they extended to his family and friends.

Steve's family wishes to thank Steve's dear friends Jay & Delaina Whitlock, Mike & Jodi Wilson, Kim Ramirez, Rick Trujillo, Jeff Loving, Gordon Leach, and Steve's “office family” at Hi-Tech Testing for their regular visits that cheered Steve up so much, and all the help with transportation, housecleaning, and numerous other chores.

Steve's family extends heartfelt thanks to the Reverend Jonathan W. Wickham and the Reverend Warren and Audrey Spanutius for all they have done for Steve during his illness and over the years.

Steve was predeceased by his mother, Reba W. Palm, his paternal grandparents, Jean Harry & Eva Elizabeth Palm, his maternal grandparents, Velma Long & Gordon Sprouse, his special great aunt, Mattie Long, paternal aunts & uncles, Irene & Vernon Grossie, Edwin & Doris Palm, Annabelle Palm & Charlotte Palm.

In addition to his father and sister, Steve is survived by his brother-in-law, Richard Moorton, his cousins, Bruce & Brenda Grossie, Jim & Dalia Palm, Rick Palm, Judi & Chuck Keller, Ron & Lynne McCreless, and several second and third cousins. Steve's beloved dog, Q-tip, and his beloved cat, Topaz, also survive him.

Services for Steve will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 3026 South Staples Street, Corpus Christi, Texas, with the Reverend Jonathan W. Wickham presiding.
