Steve Hernandez Sr. passed away on July 8, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on September 2, 1930 to the late Jose Angel and Maria Hernandez. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His dedication was to his family and his church, Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. He had a great sense of humor and was an excellent story teller.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents; sister and son, Jose Angel Hernandez.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Esperanza Hernandez; three sons, Steve Hernandez Jr. (Patricia), Gilbert Hernandez (Susie), and Mark Hernandez (Norma); 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
