Susan Leigh Chilcoat

Susan Leigh Chilcoat, age 53, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021. Susan was born February 16, 1968 to Candace L. Sheldon and Steve Q. Smith in Wichita, Kansas. She was raised in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Wichita North High School in 1986 and Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in 2002 with a Masters Degree. One of three college degrees.

She married her husband, Jeffery Chilcoat of 31 years on December 1, 1990 in Tulsa Oklahoma. She was a loving mother and enjoyed singing in the Choir at First Baptist Church, her Maker Ministry to aid the homeless, and loved knitting, yarn and all the great people that brought together. She was devoted to her family, loved to cook healthy for them and encourage them to do what they loved wholeheartedly. She was a child of God and believed in the power of payer, love and patience. She passed in her home in peace and comfort as her husband held her hand and told her how much he loved her.

Susan is preceded in death by her sister Karen and her adoptive parents, Betty and Bill Fidler of Wichita, Kansas. She is survived by her husband Jeffery and her son Malcolm.

A service will be held to celebrate Susan's life at First Baptist Church Corpus Christi, Monday, December 6 at 6:30pm in the Chapel. It's the north entrance under the portico close to Ocean Drive.
