Susie P. Rodriguez

Susie graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1957 and went on to work for the Corpus Christi State School until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

Susie had a passion for gardening; she loved roses, crape myrtles, and ivy plants, and would spend hours watering them. She loved birdwatching, especially cardinals, blue jays and mourning doves. She also learned to love cats and sang to them daily! Susie became an Astro's fan late in life but was a dedicated fan. Her favorite players were Jeremy Pena and Jordan Alvarez. She had a passion for the Dallas Cowboys, particularly Dak Prescott. Susie was an avid bingo player and she loved to gamble at Coushatta, Isle of Capri and the Texas Treasure Boat.

Special memories include playing Loteria with Susie; she loved the game and wanted to play it at every family event. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved to play Monopoly and Trouble with them. Susie will forever be remembered for the time she lovingly spent with her family, lifelong friends, and neighbors.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents, Federico C. and Justa B. Pineda; sister, Rosa Pineda; brother, Fred Pineda, Jr.; and son, Gabriel Rodriguez.

She is survived by daughters, Laura Rodriguez, and Olivia (Epifanio) Zuniga; and grandchildren, Candice Rodriguez, Zachary Rodriguez, Amanda Zuniga, and Joshua Rodriguez.

Public visitation will be at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
