Suzanne Fitzgerald

Suzanne graduated from Mary Caroll High School and carried forward a steady devotion to caring for others throughout her life. She worked as an EMT, bringing calm presence and capable hands to moments that demanded both. Alongside that calling, she nurtured a deep love for animals as a dog groomer and a passionate adopter of pets—giving time, attention, and tenderness where it was needed most. Music was a constant joy to her, and caring for animals was not simply something she did, but part of how she lived.

Known for her purple hair and her gift for making others laugh, Suzanne brought lightness into everyday life with an easy humor that people remembered. She fed and cared for stray animals, and she had a green thumb that reflected the same patient, attentive spirit she offered so freely. In the memories held closest by those who loved her, Suzanne made the best banana pudding, was always joking and happy, and had a way of making a room feel warmer simply by being in it.

Above all, Suzanne cherished her grandchildren. She loved Evan, Caden, Jaren, Kieran, and Ardyn Dix with a steady, protective devotion, always doing everything she could to make them smile and feel safe—an enduring example of love expressed through presence, laughter, and care.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her mother, Dianne Fitzgerald, and her grandmother and grandfather, Cecil and Mary Jane Oakley. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Dix; her brother, Patrick Fitzgerald; and her grandchildren, Evan, Caden, Jaren, Kieran, and Ardyn Dix.
