Sylvia Hernandez Corpus

Sylvia H. Corpus , age 70, a devoted wife to husband Jose C. Corpus, loving mother of 4 daughters, proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren passed away suddenly in the afternoon of March 21, 2022. Sylvia was born September 1,1951 in San Antonio, Texas.

She married her husband of 51 years on September 26, 1970. She dedicated 26 years of her life by his side as a military wife. She worked different jobs during those years but, spent majority of her time raising their girls.

She will always be remembered as a strong woman who loved her family more than life itself, her sharp wit, and contagious laugh. As a mother she was tough as nails on her girls but, generous and loving all at the same time.

She was a wonderful giving friend with a huge heart. There was nothing she was more devoted to than her family and instilled the same values upon her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed summer vacations, holiday gatherings, watching her grandchildren play sports, or simply being together as a family surrounded by the amount of love she and her husband created together.

She is preceded in death by Francisco Hernandez (Father), Helen Perez (Mother), and Grace Martinez (Sister).

Sylvia is survived by husband Jose C. Corpus, daughters Monica Sorimon, Linda Ardila (Beto), Rebecca Moreno (Jerry), Josephine Corpus, 1 son Tony Sorimon, 9 grandchildren Monique, Anthony, Isabel, Sebastian, Dominique, Samson, Ethaniel, Kalina, and Adam, 10 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Sylvia will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411 with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 12:30 p.m., 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411 followed by Interment at 2:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.
