Tara Lynn Langford

Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, the family moved to Corpus Christi in 1976, where she grew up.

Tara will always be remembered for her love of cats and reptiles, her sense of wit and humor, and her unconformity. She was never created to live a conventional life, and she taught us to think outside the box. God gave her the gift of art; her favorite was drawing a heart or cross with wings symbolizing her faith. Tara was fearless and often a bit scrappy. As a girl, whether the odds were in her favor or not, she was always prepared to defend a loved one or the underdog and she had a way of aligning herself with friends who had exotic pets.

In the last years, God gave Tara victory over drugs and addiction that she dealt with most of her adult life; and the final victory on Independence Day this year. The Tara we knew over these last years returned to her faith in Jesus, conquered throat cancer, and dedicated herself to rebuilding relationships. She’s now laid her burdens at Jesus’ feet and is free of it all.

Tara’s family remaining here to remember her and finish God’s work until we see her again are her parents, Joy and Jim Burke, Troy and Linda Langford; siblings, Anissa Spiewak (Tom), Cindi Tessman (Charlie), Robert Burke, Joe Martin, and Armando Martin (Glenda); Daughters, Malana Kinnett and Chanelle Lohan (Ryan); and nieces and nephews, Seth Spiewak (Kathryn), Madison and Gavin Burke, Cameron, Michael and Matthew Tessman, Nicholas Martin, Erika Garcia (Gabriel), and Paige Martin.

Tara was greeted at the pearly gates by a myriad of family and friends. All of her grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins are rejoicing with her in the presence of Jesus.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church, 3115 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78404, Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00am.
