

Thomas Frank Horner was born January 31, 1919 and raised in Foreman, Arkansas, son of Frank Horner, Sr. and Audrey Wooderson Horner. He graduated from Texas Military Institute, San Antonio; and attended Arkansas A & M, and Texas A & I, Kingsville.
He married Camille Terrell in Kingsville, December 25, 1941. Frank and Camille celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Christmas, 2011.
Frank was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps as a Radio Operator/Gunner on a B-24 Liberator bomber in the Pacific Theatre. He was in the 494th Bomb Group of the 7th Air Force and flew missions over the Philippines and smaller islands. Later he was stationed in Okinawa and flew missions over Japan itself.
Frank went into the Life Insurance business in March, 1947 and served as a Life Insurance agent for over fifty years, insuring hundreds of people in the Kingsville and Corpus Christi area. Over the years, he was active in 20-30 Club, Lions Club, Toastmasters, Civitan Club and Life Underwriters Association. He was a member of the Buccarader Organization from 1954 until the present, serving as President in 1975. He was active in the Episcopal Church, serving in many capacities, including vestryman at Church of the Epiphany, Kingsville. For thirty-five years he was an active member at All Saints Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi, where he served as vestryman, President of the Men of the Parish, council representative, and church school teacher. He had been a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi for the last twenty-five years.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Camille Terrell Horner; two sons, Thomas Roy Horner (Bonnie) of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Frank Horner of Corpus Christi; daughter, Jennifer Bley of Thousand Palms, California; six grandchildren, Bridget Loadholt of Corpus Christi, Patrick Whalen of Taiwan, Kelly Lindhorst of Henderson, Nevada, Amy Keenan of Torrance, California, Christopher Horner of Dallas, Texas, and Matthew Horner of College Station, Texas and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Walzel of Corpus Christi and brother-in-law Roy Terrell. Since his retirement, he has been active in volunteer work, including many years with the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2727 Airline Road with a reception to follow. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all.
