Vernon is a US Army veteran who fought in the Korean War. He retired from Citco after 10 years of service. He was the lead singer and guitar player for the band, “The Frontiers”. He was also part owner of the Western Club and Frontier Club.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley May Crisp; daughters, Tami Urick (Howard), Brenda Nichols and surrogate son, Wayne Vann (Shelly); grandchildren, Erica Lee, Ashley Brandt (Aaron), Arianne Urick, Kimberly and Cherilyn Nichols; great-grandchildren, Shaun Lyons, Kurtis Brandt and McKenzie Lee and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
