

Victor was born to Gregorio and Frances Mendoza, May 6,1956, in Corpus Christi Tx. He attended Foy H Moody High school but he enrolled in the US Army before he could graduate in 1974. Later in 2011 he was honored with his high school diploma from Moody High School. He met his wife Maryzela in 1980. They lived together in Houston, Texas and later in Corpus Christi City, Texas. Together they raised 3 children: Iris, Dolly, and Victor Manuel.
Victor was a devoted Catholic who attended Mass at Holy Family Church throughout his life. He was baptized there and received all of his holy sacraments within that parish, and it is there that his final Mass will be celebrated. He loved God deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in heaven.
He is survived by: His wife of 42 years, Maryzela Mendoza, son Victor Manuel Mendoza, daughter Dolly Taylor, and his siblings Arturo Mendoza, Gregorio Mendoza Jr, Manuel Mendoza, Beatrice Garcia, and Virginia Chapa. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren Ryan K Taylor, Jenny C Taylor , Ivy E Hernandez and Grey A Hernandez and many cherished and loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Victor was preceded in death by His daughter Iris Lopez, his parents Gregorio and Frances Mendoza, his brothers Oscar, Santos, and Ruben Mendoza and his sisters Maria Canales and Diana Aguirre.
Victor worked as a machinist for the Corpus Christi Army Depot. He retired in 2023 after 41 years of service to his country.
He enjoyed fitness and ran the Beach to Bay marathon several times throughout the years. He loved cheering for his favorite football team The Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching sporting
events with his family. He also enjoyed dancing, singing his favorite tejano and country songs and Barbecues with the family.
A rosary is scheduled for 12/29, 7 pm at Memory Gardens funeral home. A mass will follow on 12/30 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. The family would also like to thank all of the wonderful nurses and staff at Spohn Shoreline for the care and attention they provided. Thank you A3 ICU, A6, A7 and NT6. God bless you all.
