

She was born to parents Armando Gonzales Sr. and Rosa Soliz Gonzales on November 7, 1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1977.
Virginia worked at Spohn Shoreline surgical ICU as a unit secretary and then became the coordinator for the Heart Study program. Later she had a career change and then began working for L3 and then Corpus Christi Army Depot. After retirement she enjoyed spending her time with her beloved daughter, grandchildren, family and friends. There wasn't a party, game, or a family/friend function that she would miss. She loved creating memories with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. She got joy from helping other people with anything they may have needed.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Lisa (Mark) Benavidez, her grandchildren Cassandra (Marcus), Markus Xavier and Audrina. Five brothers Alonzo Gonzales, Prajedes (Grace) Gonzales, Ismael (Sylvia) Gonzales, Homero (Virginia) Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales. One brother is preceded in death by Armando Gonzales Jr. She is survived by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, her beloved dog Alexa, and numerous family dogs.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
