William was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on January 7th, 1956, and grew up in Westlake, Louisiana. He met his wife of 33 years, Anne, in Oklahoma, where he was stationed in the Air Force.
After he was discharged, William began his career as a chief engineer, working for several companies, traveling all around the world to every continent. Although he spent lots of his time away from home, he was fully engaged in his family’s and loved ones’ lives.
He was a great example of what it means to be a hard worker. He could fix anything, including delicious food! He was an excellent cook and was always willing and ready to feed the whole neighborhood. He took in anyone who needed a friend, a family, a father–and treated them as his own.
He loved spending time with his family–eating, singing, dancing, and playing–enjoying every moment. He was kind and soft spoken, and was never one to judge those who were different.
He was a shining light to his family. When we went through hard times, he was the honorable line we followed; the best role model of a great man, father, husband, and friend.
Left here to mourn him are his wife, Anne; sister, Barbara (Stanley) Chapman; children, Michael (Aleah), Maggie (John), Matt (Halle), Malin (Grant), and Max; grandchildren, Sam, Brittney, and Audrey, who dearly love their papa; great-grandchildren, Kyler and Remy; many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
Thank you, William, for being a part of our lives. You built us a home and gave us the world, for which we are forever grateful. We love you and look forward to seeing you again.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2nd, at Memory Gardens, Corpus Christi.
