

In 1946, Bert joined the United States Army Air Corps and served his country honorably until his discharge in 1948. On June 11, 1950, he married Charlene Aronhalt and spent 47 wonderful years together until she passed away on April 2, 1997.
Bert worked for Clow before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving in the country, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Dean (Ladel) Patterson of Coshocton, Dave (Misty) Patterson of Coshocton, Doug (Cyndee) Patterson of West Lafayette, and Dee (Marc) Ingram of High Point North Carolina; his grandchildren, Deana (Jason) Scherer, Randi (Andy) Shepler, Colt (Lyndsey) Patterson, Josh (Beth) Patterson, Jodi Patterson, Jared (Meghan) Patterson, Justin (Christa Filipski) Patterson, Kayla Patterson, Ashley (Trent) Lingo, Elyssia Ingram, Marissa Ingram, Jakob Ingram and Acelynn Ingram; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Esta Henderson of West Bedford. Along with his parents and wife, Bert is preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Patterson; three brothers, Dean Patterson, John Patterson, and Daniel Patterson; and by four sisters, Thelma Addy, Betty Murray, Vera Gardner, and Margaret Scott.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery with the Coshocton Honor Guard performing military honors. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday.
