Billy Gene Adkins, age 89, of Coshocton, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He was born on July 12, 1932 in Alkol, West Virginia at the late John and Ella (Cooper) Adkins.
Billy was a self-taught Machinist and owned his own machine shop for years. He was also the own and operator of Adkins Raceway in Port Washington. There wasn’t anything that Billy couldn’t build. One of his favorites was restoring the Riggle Mansion in Port Washington.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth (Van Hoose) Adkins; daughter, Joan Adkins; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn (Floyd) Everhart and Anna (James) Gay, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl and two sons, Tony and Kyle.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at the Funeral Home at 12:00 pm with Pastor Duane Mourer officiating.
