Charles "Tom" Thomas Eaton Jr.

Charles Thomas Eaton Jr. “Tom”, age 76, of Coshocton, passed away at Akron General Hospital on July 9, 2026. He was born on November 5, 1949, to the late Charles Thomas and Esther (Fiecoat) Eaton. On July 1, 1973, he married Muncy Eaton, who preceded him in death in June of 2023.

Tom graduated from River View High School in 1968. He joined the Marines on June 11, 1968, and became a sergeant in 1970. He served for four years and fought in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from the Marines in 1972. During his service he was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medals, Purple Heart Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He worked at Cleveland Cliffs most of his life to provide and care for his family. Tom had many interests over the years, including fishing, motorcycles and loving his family.

Tom is survived by his two children Scott (Jeannie) Eaton of Coshocton and Amy (Chad) Harrison of Johnstown: grandchildren, Jordan (Jessica) Eaton, Kristin Eaton, Colt (Morgan) Eaton all of Coshocton, Ross (Lisa) Harrison of Canal Winchester, Sydney Harrison and fiancé Kaden Davis of Johnstown and Conner Harrison of Johnstown. He has four great grandchildren, Lyla & Cade Eaton and Reid & Wesley Harrison, and another great granddaughter is due in October; along with his siblings, Andrea (Bud) Yaw, Debbie (Greg) Dobson and Randy (Christine) Eaton.

Along with his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his son Chas Eaton and brother-in-law Kenny Dawson.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date.
