Cora E Shepherd

Cora E. Shepherd, 91, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away at Coshocton Hospital on Sunday, September 29, 2013. Cora was born in Coshocton County, Ohio, on April 18, 1922, the daughter of the late Harvey and Lulu (Stagmyer) Royer. She graduated from Coshocton High School Class of 1940, and was employed at the Coshocton County Welfare Department for 29 years and retired in 1987 as a supervisor. She was also previously employed at the former Moore Enameling Co. for 18 years, and for 2 years at General Electric in Coshocton. She was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church. On March 10, 1947, she married Myers Shepherd, who preceded her in death on February 20, 2000. Cora is survived by her sister: Jean McAllister of Fresno, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two brothers: Raymond and Arthur Royer, and her six sisters: Helen Stover, Alta Schumaker, Cleo Royer, Esther Boz, Ethel Lower, and Grace Moore. A graveside service will be held in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, Ohio, on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 11:00am, with Pastor Sue Chidley officiating. There will be no public visitation.
