Dennis L. Bluck

Dennis graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1961, Ashland University in 1965, and then completed graduate work at the University of Kentucky. He went on to teach at Sidney City Schools Bridgeview Middle School in physical education, grades 5-8, from 1967-1984. Dennis coached many during his time at the Middle School, serving as the boys basketball coach, and later, as an assistant high school girls basketball coach. He later served as Ridgewood High School’s girls basketball coach.

After retiring, Dennis continued farming on his family’s multi-generational farm. His prized horse, Hustler, won the Quarter Horse Congress in calf roping.

Dennis was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church and Sons of the American Revolution. He also enjoyed playing cards with the Friday Night Card Gang.

Dennis had a passion for bowling. He spent years bowling in leagues in both Coshocton and Newcomerstown, achieving many awards. His most cherished award was being presented his 50 year award in 2021 at the USBC in Las Vegas.

Dennis will be dearly missed by the family whom he treasured. He is survived by his brother, Richard (Sharon) Bluck; his nephews, Tracy (Jennifer) Bluck and Rusty (Melissa) Bluck; his nieces, Julie Rassman, Samantha (Jon) Williams, and Amanda (David) Kirby; his great-nieces, Kalynn (Dakota) Albertson, Karrie (Leeland) Lauvray, and Sophia, Ruby, and Sunny Bluck; his great-nephews, Laken (Lindsey) Bluck, Zachary and Matthew Rassman, Gaven and Nolan Williams, and Elliot and Landon Kirby; his great-great nieces, Fynlee, Adley, Baylor, and Remie Albertson, and Vivyan Lauvray; his great-great nephews, Dawson Lauvray, and Bennett and Archie Bluck; and his loving partner, Michelle A. Carpenter. Dennis adored his pets, Mugsy and Leo.

Along with his parents, Dennis is proceeded in death by his brother, Gary Bluck.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 12:00 PM in Fairfield Cemetery, with Father Homer Blubaugh officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dennis’ memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
