Coach was an inspiration to his students and instilled a love of basketball that followed me throughout my life.
God bless the family and please know that he made a difference!

To the family sending my condolences
Coach Bluck was a good man very kind sweet and caring person We will miss him Praying for the family

Thoughts and prayers to the family, he will be greatly missed.

This picture from 1974 at Bridgeview MS 8th grade basketball team shows a group of young adults that Coach Bluck invested in athletically and emotionally, instilling in us a strong work ethic and a respect for one another. At the time, I did not realize his invested interest in me, pushing me to do better than my best on the court and in the classroom. His annual trips to Florida to watch me play high school basketball, reinforced his commitment in supporting me beyond the years he coached me. Allowing me to be a manager my 7th grade year and practicing quite often with the 8th grade team was his way of developing me and my skills. Coach would quite often have conversations with me beyond the court, challenging me to be my best in all that I pursued. Setting personal goals was important to him.

Coach mentored us before anyone called it mentoring. He cared for all of us and kept up with us long after leaving Bridgeview.

Thank you Coach! 🏀
Heaven got a good one! 🕊️

Was saddened to hear of Dennis passing. I once went to the Cleveland Indians game with Dennis and my dad Gene Mizer and shared a lot of laughs!
Dennis was a good friend to my dad and will be missed by many.

So sorry to hear of Denny's passing what a great guy. The last time we saw him was at the Ohio State Bowling Tournament in 2024 .We were team mates for many years. We had such a great time all weekend long. Will never forget the many road trips in Jaws van or Younkin's motor home or plane rides. Our sincere condolences to his family. Marge and Bill Elson Sidney Ohio .

So sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

From that first teachers' meeting in1967 when I was looking for someone to split the rent and Denny was just looking for some place to live until our phone call just a week before his untimely passing, we have been good friends. That first meeting resulted in sharing three different apartments over 17 years until he returned home to help on the family farm. Several years later when he returned to Sidney as a substitute teacher and coach, he had a room in my house.

As the scorekeeper for his many junior high and middle school basketball teams, I witnessed his interaction with his players. I saw his "agony of defeat" (there weren't many) and the "thrill of victory" (especially when BMS finally defeated Northwood MS). His high expectations and standards led to that success, and the frequency of questions about how he was doing from those former players today shows the respect he gained from them.

I will miss our almost annual trips to a Buckeye football or basketball game. I will miss the frequent phone calls we had to check on each others health and thoughts about the various sports teams. But I will still have my memories.

I'm sure that Denny's family and Michelle have even more memories to cherish, and I wish you my sincere condolences in your time of unexpected loss. Thank you for sharing Denny with the rest of us.

Denny was a special person in my life—first as a teacher at Central Jr. High and, later, as my colleague at Bridgeview Middle School. I will always remember his kindness, great sense of humor, and the positive influence he had on so many. I loved hearing stories about his work on the family farm and his beautiful horse, Hustler.
My heartfelt condolences to your family and his many friends during this difficult time.

I can’t say enough about how much I loved “Coach”. He was the kindest, most gentle spoken man who always had a smile on his face. I have fond memories from Ridgewood High School when Coach would come up to us after a loss and give such encouraging advice and always with a smile. You will be missed Coach. Much love, Emily “Kobel” McBurney

"Very nicely done" ...just some of the words of encouragement from Denny. Although he had a competitive spirit, Denny always encouraged everyone to be a better bowler. You will be missed and thanks for the great memories my friend.

I student taught under the tutelage of Denny Bluck in 1976 at Bridgeview Middle School in Sidney, Ohio. What a great guy! I spent a total of 45 years in education and could not have done that without his guidance. A great human and friend!

Thinking of the Bluck family & Michelle at this very sad time.
Denny has been missed at church and will continue to be . Cherish your many family memories. Prayers for all of you in the days ahead.

I will miss walking out of church with him and catching up with all the farming he had done, during the week. May your wonderful memories help you through this difficult time.

Our condolences to the Bluck family. Denny was such a kind man. He could always recall a coaching memory when talking to him!! Prayers for the family.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Bluck family and to Michelle. We shall miss all the fun and laughter we shared with Denny (DB) over the years. We had so many shared memories of growing up together and our high school years. He was such a good friend and we shall miss him and always have such fond memories of him.

I will truly miss watching Denny bowl. The last several years I had the privilege of subbing for his Wednesday night team and I enjoyed bowling with him every night. I grew up watching him bowl and he was a true inspiration and a great man. Heaven surely gained a great person.

Dennis was such a sweet person. He will be missed by a lot of people in the Wrst Lafayette area. Rip Dennis.

Sorry to the Bluck Family. Bowling won’t be the same without Coach Bluck, he will be missed.
