Don married E. Venona (Albertson) Jackson on February 15, 1947, who preceded him in death on December 20, 2011. Together they founded West Lafayette TV Cable Inc. and were the owners and operators for 19 years. Don was a past president of the West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and also a member of the Ohio State Grange Insurance Board. Don enjoyed flying his plane and was an avid golfer.
Don is survived by his three children, Judy Jackson of Columbus, Tim (Nancy) Jackson of West Lafayette, and Kay (Alan) Strahler of Columbus, 5 grandchildren, Erica (Dave) Harrison, Steve (Jen) Jackson, Rhett (Michelle) Ketter, Ben (Roxana) Strahler and John Orvis, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Sally Kanuckel.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 64 years E. Venona Jackson, and siblings Howard, Elmer, Charles, and Guy Jackson, Laura Laflin, and an infant brother.
A graveside service will take place at Fairfield Cemetery on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 am officiated by Evangelist Lloyd Tenney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Dr, Suite 400 McLean, VA 22102 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
