
Donald D. Landis, 84, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away at Autumn Extended Care Facility in Coshocton, Ohio, on Friday, November 18, 2011. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on June 18, 1927, the son of the late Willard and Goldie (Wendell) Landis. He attended Newcomerstown High School and was a veteran of the United States Army during World War ll, serving in the Philippines as an MP, where he received the Philippine Independence Ribbon and World War ll Victory Medal. He returned from the service and was employed at Stone Creek Brickyard for over 43 years. He married Beverly Landis who preceded him in death on May 3, 2008. Don is survived by his four children; Dale Landis of Coshocton, Ohio, Randy Landis of West Lafayette, Ohio, David Landis of South Carolina, and Joyce (Steve) Henderson of West Lafayette, Ohio; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and three brothers; Ernest of West Lafayette, Ohio, Paul of Phoenix, Arizona, and Wendell Landis of South Carolina. Don was preceded in death by two sisters, and five brothers. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Given Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave Coshocton, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rod Uhlig officiating. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, Ohio. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.
