Ethel was born in Coshocton County on September 12, 1928 to the late Jess and Marie (West) Wilson. Ethel worked for Longaberger for 10 years as a Q.A. and as a supervisor. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending her time sitting out on her balcony.
Ethel is survived by two daughters, Sarah Archer and Helen (John) Deffenbaugh, three step-daughters: Billie Charla, and Pam; six grandchildren: Debbie Clark, Jody (Mark) Phillips, Teddy (Hope) Archer, Julie (Jim) Mercer, Darin (Jeanie) Thornsley, and Christy Patterson; 23 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Nancy Hudson.
Along with her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Thornsley, second husband, Charles Gross, son, Fred David “Bud” Thornsley, five grandchildren: David and Rusty McPherson, Sally “Sis” Archer, Michelle Deffenbaugh, and Marky Patterson; and one great-great-grandson, Bryson Tennet.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 11 am to 1 pm. Funeral Services will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 pm with Reverend Diana Caton officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
