Gary Cornelius Albertson

Gary C. Albertson, age 73 of West Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Piqua, Ohio on January 29, 1942, to the late Carl and Alice (Fisher) Albertson.

Gary graduated from Keene High School in 1960 and then joined the United States Navy. Gary drove trucks for many years before retiring in 1997. On October 2, 1971, he married Rose (Randles) Albertson who survives.

Gary was a life member of the Moose Lodge #935 of Coshocton and was the Treasurer for the Moose’s Golf League for many years. Gary enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rose; his children, Dane Albertson of Coshocton, Larry McPheeters of Atlanta GA, Kelly (Lonnie) McGlothlin of Baltimore , OH, and Lisa (Tim) Hardesty of Coshocton; grandchildren, Haley Albertson, Shelby Albertson, Dalton Bitler, Madison McGlothlin, Damieon Hardesty, Kevin Hardesty, and Amber Hardesty; great-grandchildren, Alexia Hardesty and Sylence Hardesty; brother, Bruce (Jean) Albertson of Coshocton; step-brother, Jim Fallon of Coshocton; step-sisters, Vivian (Bill) Crenshaw of Coshocton and Elizabeth Clarke of Coshocton; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Denny Albertson, brother, Jim Albertson, and step-brother, Jack Fallon; step-mother, Mildred Albertson; and great-grandchild, Leanna Kapolks.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 12-2:00 pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
