Gary W. Smith

Gary W. Smith, age 67, of Clarksville, TN, formerly of Coshocton, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, in Tennessee. Gary was born on March 27, 1947, in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Mary Mae (Smith) Morrison.

Gary was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1966 to 1968. He worked at General Electric before retiring after 35 years of employment. Gary was a life member of AMVETS Post #36 and the VFW #3320 of Marysville, Ohio. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

Gary is survived by his fiancé, Molly Geer of Clarksville, TN; children, Ty Smith of Coshocton, Stephanie Smith of Coshocton, Gary Smith Jr. of Coshocton, and Sheri Smith-Elder of Urbana, Ohio; grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Tasha Hosfelt, Brandon Smith, Justin Smith, Joby Smith, Amber Smith, Austin Smith, and Mia Smith; and two sisters, Candi McCombs of Millersburg and Sandy Lusk of West Lafayette. Along with his mother, Mary, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Miner and Aunt, Helena Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9 2015, at 1:00 pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor William Buckeye officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery with the Coshocton County Veteran Council conducting military honors. Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8 2015, from 2:00-4:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
