Glenn Leland McCoy
April 6, 1932 – November 29, 2018
Glenn Leland McCoy died in West Lafayette, Ohio at the age of 86 on November 29, 2018. He is survived by his three sons Ron, Rusty, and Richard, sisters Rowena and Mary Ann, his wife’s daughters Valorie and Renee, and numerous grandchildren and extended family members.
Glenn graduated from West Lafayette High School and was a lifelong resident of Coshocton County. Glenn honorably served in the US Marine Corp, completing boot camp in San Diego, California. After leaving the service he owned and operated area businesses in Warsaw and Coshocton. He was also appointed and elected to serve as a Coshocton County Commissioner. In the middle and later years of his life he worked in sales and real estate, most extensively as an appraiser. As a resident of Coshocton he was well known to many residents of the community.
Glenn and his wife Margaret enjoyed vacationing in Florida, the Carolinas, taking road trips in the American West, as well as visiting family members in Colorado and within the state of Ohio. During their marriage they also traveled internationally to Mexico City and Acapulco.
Second in importance only to his family, Glenn cherished the family farm. Located just outside the Coshocton city limits, the property of his childhood was his pride and joy. Maintaining the farm in the years following his father’s death was a continuing labor of love.
Glenn was preceded in his passing by his parents Leland and Rowena, his step-mother Marcella, sister Lovilla, brothers Dean, Ronnie and Eddie, wife Margaret, granddaughter Ashley, and his first wife Betty, mother of his three sons.
