Ian Christopher Latchmansingh, age 68, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. He was born August 5, 1957 to the late Samuel and Rosa (DeFreitas) Latchmansingh in Trinidad, West Indies.
On June 21, 2005, he married Marie Agnes (Kasper) Latchmansingh, who survives him.
Ian was a cowboy at heart. He loved the outdoors, traveling to Amish country, dancing, and making people laugh. He enjoyed comedy, especially Jeff Dunham and Peanut, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Gilligan’s Island. He had a passion for soccer and cricket, and proudly spent time as a soccer coach sharing his love of the game with others.
He was caring, funny, and deeply devoted to his family. He especially loved his grandchildren, his dog, and the simple joys of being together. His three greatest loves were his horses, music — especially Dan Fogelberg — and his family. He will be remembered for the laughter, kindness, and love he brought to those around him.
Ian is survived by his wife of 20+ years, Marie Latchmansingh; his children, Anjuli (Craig) Latchmansingh of New York, Ian (Emily) Latchmansingh of Connecticut, Glen (Abby) Latchmansingh of Florida, Jeff (Rebecca) Kessler of Missouri, Nicole Kessler of Florida, and Mandy (Tony) Trout of Cleveland, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Lisa, CJ, Jackson, Brady, Bella, Hudson, Layla, Kinley, Troy, and Clara. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat Ramlogan of New York, Maria Boyce of England, and Andrea Finn of New Jersey, alongside several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Latchmansingh.
Per Ian’s wishes, a cremation will take place. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
