James Grant Thomas, age 88, of Coshocton, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. He was born in Coshocton County on October 10, 1928 to the late Emmett and Inez (Maston) Thomas. Grant graduated from Union Local High School and joined the United States Army.
On January 16, 1953, he married Shirley (Seward) Thomas who survives. Grant worked for local retail and banks, retiring from Bank One. Grant’s family was dear to his heart; he will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley; daughter, Tina (Randy) Endsley of Warsaw and son, David (Sherry) Thomas of West Lafayette. Three grandchildren, Brent (Alicia) Endsley, Brandon (April) Endsley, and Brooke Thomas; one great-granddaughter, Elli Endsley; one sister, Katherine Whitlock, and several nieces and nephews.
Grant is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mattie Smith, and two brothers Silas and Lester Thomas.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Thomas family would like to thank Health Services/Hospice of Coshocton County for all their hard work and dedication.
