Jean A Olinger

April 23, 1944May 13, 2019

Jean Ann Olinger of Coshocton, slipped on her boots, saddled up her beloved horse Cy, and took the trail to everlasting life on Monday, May 13, 2019.

Backtrack to April 23, 1944, in Corry, PA when Mrs. Olinger blossomed into this world. A blue eyed baby with her unique, beautiful smile, Jean would impact many lives in her future.

The most important moment during her life was on December 21, 1974, in Canal Lewisville when she committed herself completely to her 44-year love affair with her husband, John. To call their bond special would be trivial. It is of an indescribable place in the heart that both Jean and John wish for everyone.

Jean was giving of her time. She shared her knowledge of farming, gardening and cooking with her children and grandchildren. Kids in tow, she would go bowling with the Hits and Misses bowling league or participate a horse shows in the area. She was active and artistic, loving and loyal. Jean’s talents and interest flowed into her career being employed with Edmont Glove, Annin Flag, and both Kobels and Wells Greenhouse.

Jean would like you to know that she is at peace now. She is with her children, Richard, Cheryl and Steven Grier who preceded her in death. Continuing her bright spirit is her husband, John E. Olinger and daughter, Shelia (Bobby) Loy of Coshocton, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Instead of memorial gifts, Jean (lover of everything pets and pie) would like you to consider making a contribution to The Coshocton County Animal Shelter/ HATA at 21755 Twp Rd 164 Morgan Run Road. Her heart would be even happier if you visited and gave an animal a beautiful life. She also wishes for you to share the knowledge you have with younger generations, take care of yourself and to love one another.

A private service honoring this wife, mother and grandmother will be at a future date.

I am so heartbroken to hear of Jean's death. I never was around her that she wasn't smiling or joking. The world will be a bit darker place with her gone from it. Prayers, thoughts, and hugs to you John, I am so sorry for your loss.
