Jerry Dotson

Jerry was a 1970 graduate of Ridgewood High School. In addition to being a proud Army veteran who served in Vietnam as part of the 101st Airborne, Jerry also worked at Peabody Coal Mines for 10 years.

He loved to play music, especially with his brothers in their band, “The Dotsons,” as well as cards and cornhole. He always knew how to have a good laugh, and a good time. This was especially true when he won “King” of the nursing home at Adams Lane. Jerry was also a proud life member of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge No. 224. Most importantly, Jerry adored his family. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Terry Lowery) Darr of Coshocton, Amy Ryan of Canton, Missy Thomas of Coshocton, Heather Lamneck of Coshocton, and Mandy Dotson of Zanesville; his grandchildren, Tyler, Tiffany, Hunter, Evan, Aaden, Brodey, Jozi, Zoee, Isaiah, Xavier, and Gabriel; his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Trae, Tucker, and Liam, and finally, his great-granddaughter and special sidekick, Jahseh. He is also survived by his brothers, Avery Dotson of Plainfield, David (Jill) Dotson of Coshocton, Bobby (Kim) Dotson of Plainfield, and Johnny (Pamela Tipton) Dotson of Coshocton; his sister, Sandy (Rod) Ridenbaugh of Plainfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Trevor; his brother, Raymond Dotson; his sister, Linda (Sam) Maple; his sister-in-law, Maxine Dotson; and his nephew, Terry Dotson.

Masonic services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:15 AM in the chapel at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Calling hours will follow from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard conducting military honors. A service will then follow at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Steve Young. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens with the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard conducting military honors.
