John Dennis Butts

John was a 1967, graduate of Newark High School and was in sales all of his life. On November 29, 1998, he married Rhonda (Heflin) Butts who survives.

John had a wonderful sense of humor and was the life of the party! He was very musical and played in several bands when he was younger and enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved to garden and took pride in his multi-generational heirloom tomatoes that he grew. Above all, John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rhonda Butts, and his children, Alexis (Quint) Ore, John (Anika) Jaan, Andrea (Shea) Thompson, Jarod More, and Joanna (Nathan) Berger. 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson; son-in-law, Sam Griffin, sister and brother-in-law, Rosemarie (Paul) Scanlan; sister-in-law, Janet (Gary) Forbes; along with one niece and nephew and many other loving family and friends.

Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Griffin and grandson, Aliksir Jaan.

Per John’s wishes, a cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life being held at a later date.
