John J. Patsche, 93, formerly of Bridgeport, OH, and Leesburg, FL, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Autumn Health Care of Adena. He was born December 12, 1920 in Bridgeport, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Eppich) Patsche. He graduated from Bridgeport High School, was a WWII Veteran, and served his country as a Military Police Officer stationed at the White House with his older brother Bill. He was a mechanic for many years, a Service Manager for McClain Chevrolet in Wheeling, taught hydraulics and mine mechanics at Belmont Tech in St. Clairsville, and built and serviced computers for all of his neighbors in Pembrooke Estates in Leesburg during his retirement years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Bette (Watson) Patsche in 2011 and an infant daughter, Carol, in 1951. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Laurence, Andy, Victor, William, Carl, Richard; and a sister, Mary. He is survived by sister, Louise Kenzora of Bridgeport; nephew, Bill (Susan) Patsche and “Special Little One”, Patty Patsche, of St. Clairsville, OH; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, there will be no visitation. John will be interred with full Military Honors at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, near his wife. A memorial Mass will be celebrated for John at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, OH, by Fr. Dale Tornes at a later date.
