She is a 1960 graduate and Salutatorian of her class at Conesville High School and was a Librarian for Ridgewood Schools for over 27 years before retiring.
On February 1, 1961, she married the love of her life, Howard “Sandy” Young. Together, they spent 64 wonderful years.
She was known as Judy, Mrs. Young, Aunt Judy, Grammy, Mother, Jude and no matter what name you may refer to her by, she created a powerful and impactful presence in your life and the life of others.
She is remembered by her endless love of God, family, and nature. She is a life-long member of Fresno United Methodist Church. Some of her family and grandchildren’s fondest memories are going for walks in the woods with Grammy with her walking stick or Grammy organizing family reunions and get togethers with extended family or more intimate times with a family sock fight, movie, or breakfast at the kitchen bar. Judy and Sandy never missed the opportunity to attend their children and grandchildren’s games and events. Family meant everything to her, and she will always be remembered in saying “Love you forever and always!”
Judy and Sandy spent a lifetime creating together. Creating a lasting love, a family, a supportive village, travel adventures, memories, the sanctuary that is their home. Their home framed by the large oak out front adorned with two swings that they selflessly put up to bring the purest moments of joy to their kids and grandchildren. Countless hours spent pushing the kids on the swing, enjoying life's greatest gift - being completely present in the moment with your loved ones. We will always treasure these memories and feel her with us when we swing upon a swing and feel the sun's warmth upon our face and the wind behind our back.
She is survived by her loving husband, Howard “Sandy” Young, her two children, Howard and Faith Young of Fresno and Laura and Mark Reising of St. Peters, MO; eight grandchildren, Jessica and Gary Wagner, Kristen and Joshua Cox, Carly and Ethan Moore and Howie and Bri Young; 15 great-grandchildren, Brynlyn, Kace, Kohlten, Emmaree, Justin, Haley, Grayson, Aria, Ava, Quinn, Franklin, Thomas, Logan, Laura and Phoebe; siblings, Phyllis Osborne, Forbes and Shari Carroll, Lynda and Phil Bechtol, Kay Dunfee, Robert “Pete” Carroll and Pat and Jack Lewis; her dear Aunt Virginia Carroll; sister-in-law, Dora Thiessen; many nieces and nephews; and her loyal companions, Koko, the dog and Bonnie and Benny the cats.
Along with her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Graclynn Rose Young and her siblings, Michael and Mark Carroll and brothers-in-law, Jerry Dunfee and Fred Osborne.
